The course will help you master effective methods of working with psychological trauma of war, including PTSD, anxiety and crisis states.

 

The course provides practical skills for working with war trauma based on modern methods of psycho-traumatherapy and the experience of teachers from Ukraine and Israel.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Course objectives

🔹 Provide a deep understanding of the psychological trauma of war, its consequences and coping mechanisms
🔹 Introduce effective methods of psycho-trauma therapy, including work with PTSD, anxiety disorders and crisis states
🔹 Teach practical stabilisation techniques, self-regulation and psychological support
🔹 Prepare specialists capable of providing qualified assistance to the military, their families and affected civilians
🔹 Consider real cases and situations so that participants can apply knowledge in practice

 

The aim of the course is to help professionals and people who care effectively support war survivors and facilitate their recovery.

The training takes place online on the ZOOM platform. The total duration of the course is 12 weeks. The platform for online classes is ZOOM.  Access to all materials, closed group. Recording of all classes is REQUIRED in the classroom and telegram channel

D. in Psychology, Associate Professor of Psychology and Pedagogy.
Head of the International Association of Psychologists and Expert Trainers, Director of the Natalia Sablina Training Centre.

An expert with practical experience in working with the military and their families. She has been providing psychological support and assistance to the military since 2014.             
From 2022-2024, she trained more than 3000 consultants in military psychology.
She completed internships in the USA in 2024, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2022, Northern Ireland and Poland in 2023.

The course lecturer is included in the official register of psychologists of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine

CURRICULUM 

Curriculum

Peculiarities of creating a therapeutic space for children who have experienced trauma.Body-oriented and play therapy as the first stage in working with children. Sensory integration in work with childhood trauma and ART therapy.


Module 6: Depression, loss and grieving (8 hours)
Stages of bereavement in adults. 
Grief therapy and support in difficult emotional states
Practical techniques for bereavement. Psychological trauma in adults who have lost loved ones. Basic psychotherapeutic approaches to trauma therapy. Psychoanalytic psychodynamic trauma therapy. Ensuring the client's internal and external safety. Distancing, activation of resources (tools of positive therapy, ART therapy, imagery).

 

Module 7: Integration of experience and professional supervision (4 hours)
Working with your own emotional resources
Professional burnout of psychologists and methods of its prevention
Case analysis of course participants

Psychological reactions to stress and trauma
Basic theories of psycho-trauma and their application
Methods of trauma therapy. Principles of trauma therapy. The content of trauma and components of traumatic disorder. Types of traumatic situations and their psychological consequences. Protective factors and risk factors in the development of trauma. Primary and secondary traumatisation, trauma of awareness.

 

Module 2: The impact of war on military families (8 hours)
Secondary traumatisation: how it manifests itself in families.
Psychological support in the context of military operations. Combat stress and PTSD in the military. Acubarotrauma, consequences and treatment.
Practical cases of working with veterans' families

Biosuggestive therapy in work with military personnel, veterans and their families: theory and practice.

Module 3: Acute trauma and crisis states (8 hours)

Stages of development of traumatic disorder. Signs of traumatisation after a short-term event (shock trauma) and after long-term exposure (combat, prison, etc.).   Potential consequences of trauma; increased excitability. Peculiarities of PTSD in children.  Indications for emergency or routine referral to a psychiatrist. .Standardised scales and questionnaires. Working with suicidal risks
Acute stress reactions: diagnosis and first aid.
Dealing with panic attacks, aggression and hopelessness


Module 4. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) (8 hours)
Symptoms, stages and mechanisms of PTSD development. Psychotherapeutic approaches to working with PTSD. Dealing with flashbacks and triggers Somatic symptoms of PTSD and their differential diagnosis.
How to distinguish the manifestations of PTSD from neurological and psychiatric pathology.
Comorbid disorders in PTSD. Major depressive episode. PTSD therapy. Reasons for prescribing medications and mechanisms of their effect. Psychosocial rehabilitation.

Module 5: Psychological trauma in children and adolescents (8 hours)

Psychological trauma in children and adolescents, consequences. Methods of working with anxiety, fears, nightmares. Psychological support for children and adolescents who have lost loved ones.

CERTIFICATE

Certificate

Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of advanced training from the Natalia Sablina Training Centre. The course fee includes a certificate in Ukrainian. If you wish, you can order a certificate in English for an additional fee.

 

Our documents (certificates, certificates, etc.) can be counted as advanced training, as they fully comply with the requirements of paragraph 13 of the Procedure for advanced training of pedagogical and scientific-pedagogical workers, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 800 of 21.08.2019, and entered into force on 03 September 2019.

CERTIFICATION CONDITIONS: participation in all modules and workshops, completion of homework in full, development and defence of a certification paper.
